What is your approach?
We always take a consultative approach to client engagement. We start by asking you a series a questions to help understand your needs and determine:
a) whether we are a good fit to help you
b) what’s the scope of work
Based on this information, we provide you with a quote. If it’s reasonable, we’ll send you a payment link to get started. After payment, you’ll be redirected to an onboarding form that will help you organize your thoughts and provide us with the raw content we need to get started : -)
What is your turnaround time for a site?
Once we have your raw content, we can get an initial draft of your design in a few business days. Total process can take under 2 weeks, assuming timely feedback.
While you said that this could happen over two weeks, if I need more time to review the drafts, is that an issue? I have a full-time job, business and family obligations; I want to make sure I have enough time to do this.
Regarding timing - yes your site build can be done in two weeks assuming timely feedback. This is just to say that we will always work efficiently on your behalf. However if you need more time to provide feedback that is no problem at all. You can set your own pace. Don't feel pressured.
Are there specific templates or is each site designed from scratch?
Every site is designed from scratch (100% custom).
What is the process of working with a client to get a sense of their brand and how to present that on the website?
If you have specific sites or aesthetics in mind, please provide links to URLs of sites you want to model. If you do not have anything in mind, our designers can help you make the right design decisions.
The first step of your process with us is to fill out an onboarding form that we've refined over a long time. It will help you organize and clarify your thoughts to provide us with the necessary raw content and input we need to create an initial design for your feedback. Once we reach the feedback stage, it's unlimited revisions until we achieve your vision and officially launch the site by connecting your domain to your new site.
Does your process include helping clarify branding/messaging if needed? What is the process for copywriting?
Regarding clarifying branding, messaging, and copywriting - some clients come to us with specific copy they want us to use. For those that don't have their copy written we help them craft it. As you will see, our onboarding form, if filled out, will help you organize your thoughts into effectively a sales letter format (headline, subheadline, social proof, problem and solution statement, differentiating factors, etc.) Many clients get a ton of value out of our onboarding process alone as they’ve never organized their messaging as clearly before.
If after the launch I want to add new pages/additional navigation, is this something that I can do easily? If I make changes afterward, do they update correctly on desktop, mobile and tablet without issue?
Yes adding new pages and navigation is super easy. We build everything on Siteable.com which is a drag and drop builder. So you just point, click, and change (as opposed to say Wordpress where you need to mess with settings in a backend, preview to see changes, then go back to backend to edit again; a much clunkier workflow.)
Regarding desktop, mobile, and tablet - yes changes you make will reflect in those views automatically and without issue. If you want to make specific adjustments to only the tablet and mobile view, you can do so as well.
Do you provide an estimate in advance of the exact services/deliverables/cost which changes depending on complexity/other factors or is that finalized in advance?
Regarding pricing - we try not to overcomplicate things. We've done hundreds of sites and have a sense for a) how long sites take including client communication and b) what types of clients form the best working relationships with us. Based on our initial conversation with a potential client (we ask a specific set of questions), we get a sense for the scope of the project and provide a single quote for the desired deliverables.
Is there a limit to the number of revisions for copy, content and format? How does that work with the pricing?
Regarding revisions - we offer unlimited revisions for copy, content, design, and format until we arrive at your vision. 99% of the time this will not affect the original quote. The only time it would is if there is something significantly out of scope. For example, we quote you for a landing page but you end up wanting to build an entire membership site. If this happens, we'll just have a conversation about it. Our goal is to always be very reasonable with our quoting and flexibility. This all said, we reserve the right to refund payment and terminate relationships with abusive clients.
What is done specifically for SEO?
Regarding SEO - SEO is spit up into two parts. On page (meta tags and descriptions) and off page (link building / social signals). We provide you with all the tools you need to do on page SEO but we aren't SEO experts so it will be on you to come up with your meta tags and descriptions if you are looking to optimize for specific keywords.
If you leave your meta tag and descriptions blank, our builder will automatically grab content from the page itself which may suffice for your purposes. On this note, unless you're planning on investing consistent and significant resources in offpage SEO (the most expensive part), you will probably not get much SEO results regardless of what you do on page.
How are images supplied/sourced?
Re: images - our clients provide us with images of themselves or we source royalty images ourselves through our internal sources. Either way, your site will look polished. We do love when clients have amazing photos of themselves though 😃 Helps make the site more personal. Some clients start without photos of themselves and then message us at a later date to update the images on the site once they have photos taken of themselves. (No charge for this.)
After the site goes live, how are issues troubleshooted? Is there a specific number of times I can email or hours available to solve problems?
After the site goes live, we not only host your site but also provide you with site security, backups, behind the scenes software updates, website editor, and unlimited, ongoing support for small misc. changes. (Large changes requiring more than 1 hour will be quoted reasonably.) We provide email support right now with response times within 1 business day (M-F) on average, many times the same day.
How is my site hosted afterwards? Is there an annual fee?
We host your site for you on the Siteable builder. The fee to host your site will vary depending on what your site needs. Monthly hosting fees can be found here: https://siteable.com/pricing Most sites suffice with the lowest plan but some fancier sites with funnels, members areas, etc. may warrant a higher plan. Keep in mind that your fee not only covers hosting but also site security, backups, behind the scenes software updates, website editor, and unlimited, ongoing support for small misc. changes.
